Why Cannabis:
The cannabis plant is cultivated in two principal varieties (marijuana and industrial hemp) and is composed of over 200 types of cannabinoids (chemicals unique to the cannabis plant). These active components have been shown to have both analgesic (pain-killing) and anti-inflammatory (healing) properties when applied to the epidermal layer of the body (skin).
The most well-known compound in cannabis is Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and is abundantly present in the marijuana cultivar. A lesser known compound called Cannabidiol (CBD) is present in both cultivars. Studies show CBD delivers potent calming and anti-inflammatory benefits.
