Cannabis infused body care products are becoming a go-to for athletes across the country. Stylecaster recently published an article discussing the benefits of using topical cannabis regularly in your workout routine. Apothecanna was featured as a trusted brand for recovery:
"The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of topical cannabis can help minimize post workout issues [like muscle pain] and can have a positive effect on recovery time,” explained company founder, James Kennedy , when asked about the line. I was recommended the Relieving Body Creme and Relieving Body Spray($ 48 ), which also contains anti-inflammatory ingredients like arnica, peppermint, and juniper, and told to apply to muscles after exercise.
The idea is that cannabis achieves this effect by targeting receptors in the body that are part of the “endocannabinoid system.” Our bodies naturally create compounds that work with these receptors, but that several compounds in cannabis—like THC and CBD—work directly with these receptors and “can be used to help manage pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and encourage healthy skin growth.”
